There's nothing to celebrate about the CSA except for the fact it was so horribly organized it collapsed. Something 2019 fellow-travelers should consider doing so that the world can be a better place.

Read the declarations of secession issued by the constituent states of the CSA. This isn't some gallant constitutional stand to be argued between Federalists and Anti-Federalists. They're explicitly about a specific state right: retaining the institution of slavery.
